Daddy and Daughter.

Yvan Rodic, the photog behind Facehunter, is a phenomenal talent. His personal photo diary is full of the most beautiful snapshots of places, parties, pretty girls, streetscapes, and some of life's less cool but more precious moments, like this adorable portrait of a dad and his little girl:

Awww, right? She's wearing his coat and carrying flowers as big as she is, and they are holding hands, and it's, well, it's just kind of perfect. You can call me sentimental, you can even say I'm cheesy; I don't care. I am. And, I often find myself wishing more people were. Consider this your daily encouragement to take note of the oh-so-sweetness all around you.

More Scene, Less Scenesters.

The Face Hunter, better known to his Mama as Yvan Rodic, has started an eponymous sister site to his scenester sighting web mecca. The new(ish) platform is a showcase of large photos sans ads, or anything really besides a dutiful reporting of the date, place, and perhaps the event being photographed. It's a treasure trove of visual mementos from Rodic's treks as a leading fashion eye. The site features more scene photos than straight on shots of the outfits of hipper-than-you, pretty-as-hell boys and girls. The effect is a stream of dream-like images, a keyed-in tour of places and the people and things that inhabit them. Rodic's signature vanishing points are still there, but so are close ups of faces and peopleless cityscapes.

Don't you feel like you've been somewhere?

A warning: Rodic's site transmits a lot of data and I've experienced that it can be slow to load, but it's worth the wait.

Two Faced.

Chalk another point up for The Face Hunter. He scored another double:

I love the photorealistic t-shirt trend that's coming along so strong these days. I'm such a geek for graphics.

Twice As Nice.

I'm on a running mission to congratulate The Face Hunter every time he scores a double: A pretty face wearing a pretty face. This time I think I shall award some extra credit for the presence of boobs.

I want a tee with teets on it. Good things come in pairs! On a more sophisticated note, it's kind of amazing how the washy colors of the shirtdress match the sunset (or sunrise? Most hunters find their prey in the wee hours...) in the sky. Nice work, Hunter!

Cheap Thrill: The Easiest Button to Button

Do you need a wardrobe update that won't empty your pockets? Of course you do. Grab your favorite button-closeure clothing item and give it a fresh start, just like this gentleman featured on Face Hunter.

New York is loaded with great button stores that have more toggles, frogs, snaps, and buckles than you could ever need. My personal button haven is M&J Buttons on Sixth Avenue. Pick out your favorites and swap the new for the old.

Don't know how to sew on a button? Here's a little tutorial.

Is this wrong?

My moral compass is spinning. Homeless people as fashion icons? Didn't Galliano catch a lot of flack for that back in the day? But the sweetly smiling Cookie looks like a star on www.homelesschic.com a little website linked to on FaceHunter. Let's put the social issues aside for a moment and marvel at her:

You've got to give it to her. She could be the third Olsen sister, only with the ability to smile. I've got nothing but love for you Cookie.
