Snog Me, It's Valentine's Day.

Happy Valentine's Day! Forget chocolate, candy hearts, roses, and red things; all most of us want on V-Day is a little lovin'. For some inspiration, I draw your attention to sometimes fashion photographer Rankin's tome dedicated to the delicate/passionate/sticky/sweet/smoochy/tonsily art of snogging.

For his book Snog Rankin invited couples to kiss away while he snapped away and produced some super shots of the resulting face time. They may be a little close up for some of you, but I think they are great odes to one of life's most fun activities. So go for it, grab someone and reenact a shot or two. It'll make your V-Day snog-tastic.

See more of Rankin's work here and here.

Without. With.

I've always found fashion/fine art photographer Inez van Lamsweerde's Me Kissing Vinoodh (Passionately) to be haunting, visceral, magical; the perfect visual representation of want. It was one of the first images I remember seeing that used digital tactics in such a poetic way. I love seeing the piece near it's companion, Me Kissing Vinoodh (Lovingly).

The distinction is clear.
