Model Citizen: Tao Okamoto

Yigal Azrouel's show hit its high notes when Japanese born Tao Okamoto rocked the runway. Her short haircut qualifies her for the Sasha Fierce Award. She's striking and makes Azrouel's sophisticated, hard chic come to life. She stalks the runway, so I'm gonna stalk her through fashion week. Hope she doesn't mind.

Wish List

Dear readers, it has been quite a ride but it's time to say Sayonara to the New York SS '09 shows. Before we pack up and head for a fashionably late arrival at the London leg of the world fashion tour, let me show you what I've been left wanting stateside this season:

Yigal Azrouel's beautiful batik dress

3.1 Phillip Lim's wide-legged onesie, ruffled pink flats, woven gold vest, and tiered necklace (yep all of it!)

Juan Carlos Obando's tie front short pants, and that model's abs

Marc by Marc Jacobs' layered belts (a look I have proudly been rocking since last year! :)

Marchesa's fresh gold cocktail number

So, now you know what to get me for Chrismakwanzukkah.
Please fasten your seat belts and return your seats and trays to their upright position. London, here we come!

Wave Goodbye, New York

l to r: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Cynthia Rowley

Waves rippled through the New York shows. From ruffles to graphic readout-like patterns, undulation was the new edge.
