XX Marks The Spot.



There is something so utterly joyous about the fact that the internet has allowed dorky, non-hot with a capital H, non-ripped, teased, pushed-up, muscled, cutie pie musicians to break through into the mainstream, or at least a close tributary. I know I've made this point before, but it's such a relief to see non-packaged musicians again who's selling point is their talent. Introducing The XX.



They are a band of four twenty-somethings from London who have more edge than your average mellow-voiced quartet. Check out those haircuts; that black-ed out, slightly grungy look with thick trimmings of self-consciousness. Now, check out their music and love it:
