I joked with my friend once that I would love to ride the elevator at the Conde Nast building (after feasting in the cafeteria of course) up and down for a day just to see what happens in the world's most fashionable shafts. Well, now I can have that experience and still hang on to my dignity.
Introducing @CondeElevator's Twitter feed. It's every bit of crazy goodness that 4 Time Square employees overhear on their way up the building. It's fantastically full of all the fashionese and fat phobia you would expect.

Twitterific.
The ever-brilliant Steven Meisel flips a switch and brings digital technology to the printed page. His latest editorial for Vogue Italia features a paper Twitter feed filled with supermodels in grainy cell phone-like pics. The layout matches the blue bird's site exactly and I had to resist the urge to mouse and click the mag pages.
It's pretty phenomenal and fearless of a photographer who has made his major mark in print to embrace the quick-shot, usually low quality product that the Twitter tech offers. Meisel is a genius of the magazine medium, and even though the medium is dwindling, I'm sure he'll transition nicely. I'll be sad when all of the fashion photos I view glow rather than crinkle, but I'm open to change. I think it's inevitable, and so does Steven Meisel apparently.

Twitter Break Up: Love Gone Sour
I should have known better. Just shy of a week after signing up to follow Courtney Love on Twitter I have decided to pull the virtual plug and unfollow her. I felt like I was in an abusive relationship. My normally entertaining feed would be filled with endless misspelled/unintelligible/mispunctuated rants and raves that looked like they were typed by a double amputee monkey on a touch screen. Like thirty tweets in a row. I felt abused and misused. So, I'm recanting my previous endorsement of following her for any reason, even though her fashion sense might be a tad interesting. Don't do it. You'll just wanna un do it. Sorry if I led any of you astray.

Mash Up Commercials Are So Over.
I hate this commercial. I really do. The mash-up style is so overdone and P.Diddy is in it, but I can't hate on the event it's promoting.
Fashion's Night Out to be held on September 10th is a five-boroughs wide event that will encourage every single retailer and every single store in the entire New York area to stay open past their normal bedtimes (11pm!!) and invite everybody to get their shop on! Economic stimulus is at the heart of the matter, but so is fun. I can't wait to see who I bump into after dark. Maybe Mizrahi at Target? Wintour at Kmart? The Olsens at Starbucks? Oh the possibilities. Check out the event's website for more information. Or, do the Twitter thing and follow along to get the lowdown on the highup. Ooooo...Just checked the Twitter feed and apparently Coco Rocha will be doing a performance at DKNY! I'm so there. Need I remind you of her mad skills? Yes? Ok, here:
Man, she gets some air, huh?

The Pretty Black Hole.

She lets tweeters in on homeade fashion projects, including turning a shawl into a dress in an hour.
If not for her unique mix of probably undiagnosed brain stuff and insane genius (I once read an article about her challenging everyone she met to timed NYTimes crossword puzzle contests and winning every time!) the world would be lacking a certain spice, if you will, a certain flavor.
Love has always embraced the internet and Twitter has become her new outlet. When a list of 10 tweets in a row pop up from her on my feed, I feel a little assaulted, but usually it hurts so good. Just like Courtney Love should.

Tweet, Tweet Rachel Roy!
Rachel Roy gave her very first Twitter press conference earlier today and yours truly was able to ask the beautiful and glowing Ms. Roy how she stays confident during tough times. She answered!

See, the second from last response (right below my buddy reLYME)? That's her answer to my question. She keeps it all positive and smiley and stuff during tough times. Well, her beautiful clothing and her inspiring success story always make me smile too. Rachel Roy is a great example of a hard working woman who keeps real women in mind when she designs. And she glows. I like her.
